MANILA, Philippines – The March 2023 Civil Service Exam results or Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) full list of passers and topnotchers (top 10) for professional and subprofessional level are expected to be released online on Friday, June 9, 2023 or in seventy-five (75) calendar days after the exam.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) said that the number of examinees for the March 26, 2023 civil service exam more than doubled to 403,567 compared to 147,877 registrants of the August 7, 2022 exams.
A total of 350,645 individuals or 86.89% of the total number of examinees took the CSE-PPT for Professional level, while 52,922 or 13.11% tried to hurdle the Subprofessional test, in 94 testing centers nationwide.
CSC announced that passers who got at least 80 percent rating will be eligible for a position in the civil service provided the eligibles meet the qualifications and other requirements - education, experience, and training.

CIVIL SERVICE EXAM COVERAGE
The CSE-PPT is a general ability test designed to measure an individual’s preparedness to enter government service.
The CSE-PPT covered the following subjects (in English and Filipino):
Professional Level (Prof) -170 items with a time limit of 3 hours and 10 minutes
SubProfessional Level (SubProf) - 165 items; time limit is 2 hours and 40 minutes

RELEASE OF RESULTS
The CSC initially targeted May 25, 2023 (Thursday) release of CSE-PPT results or 60 calendar days after the examination. This was announced through CSC Examination Announcement No. 11 s. 2022.
But in a Facebook post on April 13, CSC announced the new schedule for the release of the result of CSE-PPT citing huge volume of examinees.
To quote, CSC said: "With the huge volume of examinees for the 26 March 2023 Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT), both Professional and Subprofessional levels, the CSC has adjusted its timelines and adopted measures to address concerns on test results processing. As such, the new schedule for the release of the result of the CSE-PPT) is on 9 June 2023."
Examinees, both passed and failed, may get their individual test results using the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System (OCSERGS), which can also be accessed through the CSC website on June 24, 2023.
PREVIOUS EXAM
In the August 2022 civil service exam, a total of 26,307 out of 138,703 (18.97%) examinees passed the test. The Professional Level logged 22,241 passers out of 117,938 examinees or a passing rate of 18.86%. Meanwhile, 4,066 out of 20,765 examinees or 19.58% passed the Subprofessional Level. Leading the passers for professional level is Kate Angelica P. Pasobillo from Bicol Region, who garnered a rating of 90.08%. Rey Timothy H. Nalica from Southern Tagalog bested the subprofessional exam with 94.77% rating.
In the June 2022 civil service exam, CSC released results in sixty-eight (68) calendar days after the exam. The agency named 20,996 out of 129,117 (16.26%) examinees who passed the test. In terms of level of exam, 17,503 out of 109,228 takers of the Professional test hurdled the exam, translating to a passing rate of 16.02%. The passing rate for the Subprofessional test is slightly higher at 17.56% or 3,493 passers out of 19,889 examinees. Pauline Delgado from the National Capital Region (NCR) topped the professional level exam with 96.77%. Meanwhile, John Patrick Las Pinas from Davao Region bested the subprofessional level exam with 95.74%.
In the March 2022 civil service exams, CSC announced results in exactly sixty (60) calendar days after the exam. A total of 12,179 out of 70,833 (17.19%) successfully passed the examinations - 9,651 out of 56,980 (16.94%) for the professional level and 2,528 passers out of 13,853 examinees (18.25%) for the sub-professional level. CSC did not release list of topnotchers.
In the August 2019 civil service exams, results were released after sixty (60) working days. A total of 29,733 examinees passed the CSE-PPT. Said figure represents 11.62% of the total 255,778 examinees for both Professional and Subprofessional levels. Karriza Gem Reopta, from NCR, bested 224,777 Professional level examinees with a rating of 88.91, while Sidney Dani Gelito, from Southern Tagalog topped the Subprofessional test with a 90.14 rating out of 31,001 examinees.
In the March 2019 CSE-PPT, results were out after 64 working days. A total of 27,944 out of 264,473 total examinees (10.57%) passed the exams. Donna Rizalyn Leus from Southern Tagalog led the 24,304 Professional eligibles as she garnered a rating of 87.03. Meanwhile, Christiani Matugas from NCR topped the 3,640 Subprofessional eligibles with a rating of 94.37%.
In the August 2018 exams, results were announced in fifty-eight (58) days after the exam. A total of 22,087 out of 181,985 examinees (12.14%) passed the exams. The figure do not include examinees from NCR and Morong, Rizal where examinations were suspended due to torrential rains brought by the southwest monsoon (Habagat). Salveregina Samuelle Sarnillo from Central Visayas, with a rating of 92.35, bested 159,283 examinees of the Career Service Professional level, while Sophia Isabelle Olalia, with a 90.78 rating and from the Southern Tagalog region, placed first among the 22,702 hopefuls for the Subprofessional level.
For the March 2023 CS exam results, takers may expect of passing rate around 10-20%.

CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY TO PASSERS
Passers shall be issued a Certification of Eligibility (CoE) printed on CSC letterhead.
Those who will pass should coordinate and verify first through CSC announcement if their Certification is already available before going to the CSC Regional/Field Office. Contact numbers of the CSC office may be accessed at the CSC website.
NEXT CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION
The next schedule of the next Civil Service Exam for Professional and Sub-Professional Levels is on August 13, 2023. Those eyeing for eligibility are encouraged to monitor for the opening of applications on May 15, 2023.

CIVIL SERVICE EXAM COVERAGE
The CSE-PPT is a general ability test designed to measure an individual’s preparedness to enter government service.
The CSE-PPT covered the following subjects (in English and Filipino):

- Clerical Ability (filing, spelling)

- Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A. 6713);
- Peace and Human Rights Issues and Concepts; and
